Isaiah 30:24

The oxen likewise and the young asses that ear the ground shall eat clean provender, which hath been winnowed with the shovel and with the fan.

The clean provender winnowed with shovel and fan and eaten by the oxen and young asses pictures wholesome, nourishing spiritual food for God's people. Thorough winnowing means truth presented in its purity, carefully sifted and separated from error as grain is separated from chaff, so that it is fit to nourish faith. Shepherds and ministers are to feed the flock this sound, pure teaching rather than spiritual poison. This pure food is presented in simplicity and kept free from fanaticism. This pure food is kept free from discordant teachings.

Weak souls not established in present truth had been feeding on false reports and distorted accounts of visions instead of this purified teaching. Teaching mixed with spiritualism is not thoroughly winnowed and is not clean food for the flock. This clean, winnowed food means decided faith and a firm stand, openly made known so that all understand the teacher's position and know where to find him.

Feeding this food leads God's people safely, breaks every separating barrier to fragments, puts the elements of union in the heart so that hearts flow together like two drops of water, and gives Sabbathkeepers power and strength far exceeding anything yet seen. Uncertain teachers who will not venture or bear responsibility and remain without a clear message fail to give this food and instead nourish disunion and confusion.
