Isaiah 30:29

Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel.

The song in the night when a holy solemnity is kept, and the gladness of heart as of one going with a pipe to come into the mountain of the Lord, pictures joyful worship music. It is like worshipers celebrating a holy feast or gathering, going with music and with a pipe to the mountain of the Lord, to the Mighty One of Israel, to worship Him.

The verse applies to God's people at their moment of utmost and greatest danger. At that time, when threatened with destruction, they look toward the Lord for deliverance and plead for divine protection, singing with glad hearts as they come to Him. It portrays their singing and rejoicing with gladness of heart when God intervenes to deliver them.

The surrounding prophecy places this rejoicing after the Lord causes His glorious voice to be heard and defeats the Assyrian power. In the day of final judgment the righteous, those who have kept the truth, enter the city of God, and heaven rings with their glad and triumphant songs.
