When those who claim to belong to God follow their own counsel and imagination instead of entering into covenant with Him, and choose to confederate with those who delight in what He hates and to justify the heathen and the disobedient in transgression, God removes His covenant-keeping power and withdraws the light of His presence and permits them to follow their own way to destruction and to be brought to nothing, and this course causes great confusion in Israel and gives unbelievers satisfaction and gives the enemy cause to cast reflection upon the Lord because of lack of numbers in His army.
Professed servants of God who retain fleshly appetites and Sodomitish impurity and self-indulgence in meat eating and other harmful diet corrupt their service, hold the truth in unrighteousness instead of obeying it, put Christ to open shame, and fail to reveal the purifying, sanctifying influence of the truth. Applied to impurity, human trust ending in shame and confusion means not one particle of uncleanness will escape wrath at the execution of the judgment, those who do not repent of and forsake all uncleanness will fall with the wicked, and only those who become saints and not sinners will become members of the royal family and form God's kingdom in the earth made new.
