Isaiah 31:2
Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity. Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.
He also is wise, and He will bring the threatened evil upon evildoers without calling back His words or withdrawing the pronounced punishment. He will arise and stand up against the house of evildoers and against the help of those who aid workers of iniquity, which means He is about to rise out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity and sin. The verse warns against going down to human powers for help and putting trust in horses and chariots and horsemen because they are many and very strong, instead of looking to the Holy One of Israel and seeking the Lord.
It warns against cherishing an evil heart of unbelief that departs from the living God. Those who in trouble honor God with a full and clear conscience will receive according to their faith and will have peace, because they have repented and been forgiven. Those who refuse to give God their confidence and to surrender their souls to His keeping have destruction prepared for them, and it will surely come.
