Isaiah 32:15

Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.

The Spirit must be poured out from on high before God's people come fully forward to represent Christ. When poured out, the Spirit turns spiritual barrenness into fruitfulness and abundance, bringing spiritual renewal and enabling the church to spread the light of truth. Those renewed by the outpouring speak with meekness and love, delivering a clear message in a less condemnatory spirit and becoming more earnest for the salvation of those who oppose them.

The wilderness becoming a fruitful field also means that God, as the source of life and power, can transform barren land to bless and provide for His obedient, commandment-keeping people. This change displays His power and brings glory to His name. He sustains His people in this way by giving sunshine and rain to make plants flourish and by giving life to seed so that it grows and bears fruit.
