Isaiah 34:16

Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.

Seek out the book of the Lord and read it, searching its pages with care. The call is to God's people to search and read the Scriptures diligently. The book to which it points holds the promise of the root of Jesse standing as an ensign for the nations, to whom the Gentiles seek. It holds the promise that the Lord will set His hand to recover the remnant of Israel and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the ends of the earth. It holds the promise of the joy, thanksgiving, and praise of those who receive God's salvation and draw water from the wells of salvation.

Those words about the gathering of Israel and the nations make the command to search and read a message for the present time. They guide and direct the work of carrying salvation to those who have not heard it.
