Isaiah 34:2

For the indignation of the LORD is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter.

The indignation of the Lord rests upon all wicked nations and His fury upon all their armies, and this means they are utterly destroyed and delivered to slaughter. This applies to the final judgment and destruction of the ungodly of all nations upon the earth. It is the final execution of God's wrath at the end of the great controversy, which is the time of the judgment and perdition of ungodly men and the day of the Lord's vengeance. The utter destruction is carried out by the fire of God's vengeance, with fire coming down from God out of heaven and flames breaking out from the earth, so that the wicked receive their recompense in the earth.

At that time the earth is broken up, devouring flames burst from every chasm, and the rocks are on fire. The elements melt with fervent heat and the surface of the earth becomes one molten mass, a vast seething lake of fire. In that lake the wicked are destroyed root and branch.
