Rabshakeh Shouts a Challenge at Jerusalem's Wallby emmanuel_higgins

Isaiah 36:3

Then came forth unto him Eliakim, Hilkiah’s son, which was over the house, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah, Asaph’s son, the recorder.

The three men who came out to meet the Assyrian envoy were Eliakim Hilkiah's son, who was over the house or household, Shebna the scribe, and Joah Asaph's son, the recorder.
Their meeting took place during Hezekiah's reign, when Sennacherib invaded and threatened Judah and Jerusalem.
The verse belongs to the historical accounts in Isaiah 36-39, the historical sketch with included messages that forms the final section of the first part of Isaiah.
It belongs to the account of Sennacherib's campaign against Judah, including the siege of Lachish, the tribute taken from Hezekiah, and the attack on Jerusalem that ended when the angel of the Lord struck down 185,000 Assyrians.
The surrounding chapters recount Hezekiah's humility, God's message to him through the prophet and the advice given to him, and Jerusalem's deliverance from Assyria.
They also recount Hezekiah's sickness and healing and his later mistake in exalting himself before the Babylonians, whose predicted result was his children's captivity and Jerusalem's plunder.
