Isaiah 37:14

Hezekiah received a threatening message from messengers and read it, then went up into the house of the Lord and spread the matter out before Him. His act was a literal laying of the danger before God in the sanctuary rather than meeting it in his own strength. His course stands as a pattern for remaining spiritually prepared beforehand so as not to be found unready. When sudden danger or calamity breaks upon people, the lesson is to seek God with humility, fasting, and prayer as he did.
