Isaiah 38:20

The LORD was ready to save me: therefore we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the LORD.

The line belongs to the song Hezekiah sang after heaven granted him a new lease of life, confirmed by the miracle of the shadow turning back ten degrees on the sundial.
It credits the Lord with being ready to save him, sparing his life from death by divine favor when all other hope had fled and restoring him to health, revealing God as the living God and upholder of all created things.
The healing came after Hezekiah prayed, with the promise that fifteen years would be added to his life and with direction to apply a fig to the affected part.

In response to his deliverance he vowed joyful praise and willing service, to sing his songs with stringed instruments in the house of the Lord all the days of his life.
Wise men in the valleys of the Tigris and Euphrates who studied astronomy noticed the turned-back shadow and marveled, and when Merodach-baladan learned it was wrought as a sign to the king of Judah, he sent ambassadors to congratulate Hezekiah on his recovery and to learn, if possible, more of the God who could perform so great a wonder.
By sparing Hezekiah, God gave him a testimony of divine power, goodness and sovereignty to extol to the seekers after truth who came from Babylon.
Grateful praise for God's compassionate healing inspires spending one's years to the glory of the Maker.
The account shows that using simple remedies in keeping with natural laws can accompany faith and does not deny God's power or providence.
