Isaiah 4:6
And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain. And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.
There shall be upon Mount Zion a tabernacle for shade in the daytime from the heat and for refuge and for a covert from storm and from rain, as a defense upon all the glory. Over every dwelling place of Mount Zion and over her assemblies there shall be created a cloud and smoke by day and the shining of a flaming fire by night, with a covering above all the glory. This is God's care for His people in the great final struggle with the powers of evil.
God Himself and the Lord's presence is the safe pavilion and shelter from the storm. The shelter is Christ's fold, to which He calls sheep that are wandering and doomed to perish in the dark ways of sin. Those who reach their high calling in Christ have the Lord's protecting arm with them and a refuge from the storm.
In the final time of trouble the faithful, the very class whom the world mocked and derided and desired to exterminate, shall pass unharmed through tempest and earthquake and pestilence while the world looks on. The covering that God draws over His people in the sealing time shelters them from the burning wrath of God in the seven last plagues in the day of slaughter. Only those firmly planted on present truth receive that covering.
Satan works with every art to hold people where they are until the sealing is past, so that they are left without shelter. God has begun to draw the covering and will soon draw it over all who are to have a shelter in that time, and will work in power for them. The same God who is a safe shelter to His people is a devouring fire to transgressors of His law.
