Isaiah 41:26
Who hath declared from the beginning, that we may know? and beforetime, that we may say, He is righteous? yea, there is none that sheweth, yea, there is none that declareth, yea, there is none that heareth your words. Who hath declared from the beginning, that we may know? and beforetime, that we may say, He is righteous? yea, there is none that sheweth, yea, there is none that declareth, yea, there is none that heareth your words.
God issues the challenge of who has declared from the beginning so that it may be known, and beforehand so that it may be said to be right, and the answer that none shows, none declares, none hears proves that no rival can establish divine knowledge by foretelling events. That challenge stands in Isaiah 41-45, where God very fully reveals His purpose for His people, and those chapters are to be prayerfully studied. For that reason His people are not to turn away from Him to look to finite man for wisdom, nor to make flesh their arm, but to look to Him alone for wisdom, salvation, and trust.
The Lord alone is to be trusted, and He is not to be trifled with. The declaration to which this word belongs is full of promises, assurance, and encouragement to comfort true believers amid the afflicting judgments coming upon the world in the closing of earth's history. Its word will certainly be fulfilled, so that those who fulfill these words in the latter days place themselves where the Lord will surely do all He has promised.
Isaiah 41 calls for a work in the last days to prepare the way for the second appearing of Jesus by giving the gospel to all nations, tongues, and peoples. That preparation includes resisting Satan's efforts to control human minds through intemperance, pleasure-seeking, and harmful substances. The Lord calls His people to diligent work for repentance with most earnest effort, and strength is given to His own people.
