Isaiah 43:14
Thus saith the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships. Thus saith the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships.
Isaiah 43:14 belongs to Isaiah 41-45, where God very fully reveals His purpose for His people. These chapters are to be studied prayerfully. The verse teaches God's people to look to God and His infinite wisdom for wisdom, and not to turn away from Him to finite humans for it.
It is part of a chapter of assurance and promises meant to comfort true believers amid coming judgments. It encourages believers to trust that the Lord will fulfill what He has promised even while they experience affliction.
It is among prophecies concerning God's people that will be fulfilled. Its fulfillment is connected with God showing great grace toward His people in the last days when His law is made void. It is connected with the prophecy that His people are robbed and spoiled, with none to deliver them.
The chapter shows the work of a person whose mind is brought into harmony with the mind of God: standing in holy trust as a steward over sacred responsibilities, guarding every avenue of the soul lest Satan gain the victory, striving for the highest excellence by every means, being faithful in little things, and following the Lord's plan knowing nothing of defeat. Such a person keeps the mind free from the rubbish Satan would add and open to the bright beams of the Sun of Righteousness so as to see God. He faithfully plants and sows the portion of vineyard given to him, and enlarges his work by cultivating new land. With well-cultivated intellect and well-disciplined character he presents a well-cultivated and beautiful offering to the Lord.
