Isaiah 44:6

Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

The LORD speaks as both the King of Israel and Israel's Redeemer, the LORD of hosts, who is the first and the last, and beside whom there is no God. This declaration stands within a revelation in which He fully makes known His purpose for His people. That purpose is one that He alone knows and declares. There He redeems His people, forgives their sins, and calls them to return to Him. Therefore His people are to seek wisdom from Him rather than from finite human beings.

They are to look to Jesus for spiritual knowledge. They are not to hide the light under a bushel but to let it give light to all who are in the house. For God has given His Son as a light to the Gentiles to open blind eyes. And to bring the prisoners out of the prison and those who sit in darkness out of the prison house.
