Isaiah 45:15

Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.

Verily He is a God who hides Himself, and yet He is the God of Israel, the Saviour, saving even when His ways are hidden. Around Him stand idols that cannot save, whose makers shall be ashamed, while Israel shall receive everlasting salvation in the Lord and shall not be put to shame. Why He hides Himself is left unexplained, for the emphasis falls instead on redemption and on the call to look to Him.

The verse belongs to a part of Isaiah that reveals God's purpose for His people. Together with chapter 44, chapter 45 shows what God has done for His people and what He will do for them if they follow on to know Him whose going forth is prepared as the morning. The chapter presents the Lord alone as God, just and saving, to whom all shall bow.

It emphasizes that God has redeemed Israel. It calls people to look to God alone for salvation, righteousness, and strength. That invitation goes to people everywhere, and those who trust Him receive righteousness and strength and are justified. It directs God's people to seek wisdom from God rather than from finite human beings. The verse encourages with what God has covenanted to do and calls for greater appreciation and personal reading of those chapters.
