Isaiah 47:12
Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail. Babylon is challenged to stand now upon its enchantments and the multitude of its sorceries as the judgment approaches. These are practices in which it has labored from its youth, long-practiced arts summoned to try to avert what is coming upon it. Yet they cannot profit it, nor can they enable it to prevail against that judgment. They are powerless to save it from the loss and desolation decreed by God.
