Isaiah 47:15

Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou hast laboured, even thy merchants, from thy youth: they shall wander every one to his quarter; none shall save thee.

Babylon's trusted supports from its youth, its merchants and associates along with its sorceries and counsel, will prove unable to rescue it when judgment falls. They will scatter, each wandering off to his own quarter and destination, leaving the city without help. Thus no one will save it, for all on whom it relied will abandon it in its hour of need. The declaration stands as the close of the prediction of Babylon's sudden desolation and the final end of its power.
