The Daughter of Babylon Grinds Grain in the Dustby emmanuel_higgins

Isaiah 47:3

Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet thee as a man.

The pronouncement belongs to the sentence that takes Babylon down from its throne and takes away its title as lady of kingdoms, bringing it into silence and darkness. Its nakedness and shame will be uncovered and seen, so that it is exposed and humiliated. God Himself will take vengeance on Babylon without restraint, not meeting her as a man would or dealing with her as a human ruler would. This declaration is part of the sentence that ends Babylon's power. That judgment punishes Babylon for cruelty toward God's people, for pride, and for trust in wickedness.
