Isaiah 48:5
I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee: lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them. I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee: lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them.
From the beginning God declared what would happen before it came to pass. He gave the announcement beforehand so stubborn Israel could not say that an idol had done those events. They could not say that a graven image or carved image had commanded them or caused them or foretold them. They could not say that a molten image had commanded them. The advance declaration displays His foreknowledge and makes clear that He Himself both foretold the events and accomplished them, and not false gods.
The same warning belongs to those who have received repeated warnings and testimonies yet reject them. By that rejection they hinder His work. By that rejection they dismiss the message of His Spirit.
