Isaiah 48:7
They are created now, and not from the beginning; even before the day when thou heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them. They are created now, and not from the beginning; even before the day when thou heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them.
They are things created now and not from the beginning, new and previously hidden things that God reveals as they come to pass, so that His people cannot say beforehand that they knew them. He gives such warnings and new light to a people who have already received truth but refuse to listen. Their obstinacy makes them treacherous toward Him, and His disclosures expose their resistance. The disclosures keep them from taking credit for events or attributing them to idols, and His continued work is for the glory of His name.
The chapter containing this declaration serves as instruction for ministers. As part of Isaiah 48 through 52, it points to the appointed work to be done now. It calls for a united and determined effort without delay, including decided work in the cities, an increase of workers to meet the demands of the cities, and means brought in to carry forward soul-saving.
It calls lay members who have means to remember their responsibility to help do this work without delay, to reconsecrate themselves, to be in harmony with the Lord God and with Christ His only begotten Son, and to proclaim the message throughout the world as pointed out for the past twenty years. It warns to resist Satan's temptation to enter into commercial enterprises and to invest means in the Lord's work instead. It is to be studied carefully with prayer for willingness to do His bidding.
