Isaiah 56:9

All ye beasts of the field, come to devour, yea, all ye beasts in the forest.

In its setting in Isaiah 56:1-10 the verse brings two parties into view, and the choice between them is open before every reader. The party to be in is the party assured by the Word of God, by the testimony of that Word, that the love of God shall be upon them. Everyone should study the Scriptures carefully to be in that assured party and to stand in a position where they glorify God.

The verse belongs to instruction that applies to present experience, not to a distant time. It presses the need to understand what must be done in right lines because time is passing rapidly. Together with the messages of Isaiah 55, Isaiah 56, and Isaiah 58, it calls God's people to arouse themselves to give the last note of warning to save a perishing world.
