Isaiah 62:8

The LORD hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured:

The chapter to which this verse belongs portrays the work Christ will carry out through those who follow His example. In that promise God binds Himself by oath, by His right hand and by the arm of His strength, that the harvest of His people will no longer be taken away. Their grain will no more be given as food to enemies, and strangers will no more drink the wine for which they have labored. This security from plunder is part of their restoration and salvation.

The chapter speaks decisively to God's people and calls for careful heeding. As they heed its words, cease complaining, and turn from evil doing, the Lord reveals His power. That manifestation comes in the conviction and conversion of souls.
