Isaiah 63:7

I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.

I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the Lord and His praises according to all He has bestowed on His people, recounting His loving-kindness and praising Him for all the good given in mercy and abundant loving-kindness. That recounting centers especially on the house of Israel and its abundant blessings, and is to be spoken of as lovingkindness, praise, and great goodness bestowed according to mercy and abundant love. That great and abundant goodness flows from His mercy and the multitude of His lovingkindnesses, grounded in His many mercies and loving-kindnesses toward His people. Gratitude for His gifts is the fitting response to such compassionate care.

The verses that follow explain that goodness as God saving, redeeming, and carrying His people through their affliction. He acts as their Saviour who in love and pity redeems, bears, and carries them, with His many acts of loving-kindness given as reasons to remember and praise Him. In the wilderness He shared their affliction, saved them through His presence, redeemed them in love and pity, and carried them throughout their early days. He claimed them as His people, children who would not lie, was afflicted in all their affliction, saved them by the angel of His presence, and in love and pity redeemed them and bore and carried them all the days of old. That historic goodness is to be joined with personal thanksgiving for daily mercies such as sleep and rest, thanking the heavenly Father by mentioning His lovingkindnesses, His praises, and His great goodness toward the house of Israel according to His mercies and the multitude of His lovingkindnesses.

Remembering this goodness refreshes the soul and should lead to thanksgiving expressed in words and deeds, making His saving grace known to others. This remembrance of His lovingkindness, praise, and great goodness should be the theme of conversation among His people. The chapter speaks decisively to God's people, calling them to stop complaining and doing evil, draw near to God, repent and be converted, because their ways are not accepted and a reformation must take place among them.
