Isaiah 65:11
But ye are they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number. But ye are they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number.
The verse is a rebuke to those who forsake the Lord. It applies to a church that has failed to seek the lost sheep, whose members are neglecting their duty to bring the lost into the fold and bear guilt for that neglect. It speaks in a most decided manner to those in high positions carrying great responsibilities whose ways are not accepted by God and who are not wholly on the Lord's side.
It charges its hearers to stop complaining and evil working, to put away the evil of their doings, to draw near, repent and be converted, as part of a reformation that must go through the congregation of Israel. When its words are received and obeyed, the Lord appears for the conviction and conversion of souls.
