Isaiah 65:12

Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not.

Therefore numbering to the sword and bowing down to slaughter is the pronounced judgment on those who reject reproofs, refuse to answer when called, refuse to hear when spoken to, do evil before the eyes of God, and choose what He does not delight in. That judgment falls for failing to heed the call and for choosing what displeases Him.

It applies to those in high positions of influence and responsibility who have received great light yet have disregarded the reproofs given to the people and have neglected to warn them of truth. Their failure leaves people unwarned and brings accountability before God. It also applies to a church that failed to seek the lost sheep, whose members neglected their duty to bring the lost back to the fold and bore guilt for that neglect.

The required response is to heed the message, abandon evil, put away the evil of works, cease complaint and evil working, come nigh to God, repent, be converted, and consecrate oneself to God, because such ways are not accepted by Him. When the words of Isaiah 65 are taken and obeyed, the Lord will appear for the conviction and conversion of souls, and a reformation will go through the congregation of Israel. Then Isaiah 60 and 61 will be understood.
