Isaiah 65:13
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed: Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed:
The division between servants who eat and drink and rejoice and others who hunger and thirst and are ashamed belongs to restored life in the new earth, not to the present mortal sin-cursed world, and the harmonious animal imagery in the same chapter depicts beasts restored from the effects of the curse. The chapter speaks in a most decided manner to those in high positions carrying great responsibilities who have had great light yet have disregarded the reproofs the Lord has given to His people. The verse applies to church members guilty of neglecting to seek the lost sheep, who needed to see and acknowledge the wrong of the church before George Lay could be reached and brought into the fold.
God's people are urged to accept and obey its words by stopping complaint and evil working, putting away the evil of their doings, drawing near, repenting and being converted, because their ways are not accepted of God. When taken and obeyed, its words bring the appearing of the Lord in power for the convincing and converting of souls. Its fulfillment belongs to a reformation going through the congregation of Israel that follows the understanding of Isaiah 60 and 61.
