Isaiah 66:22
For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
The new heavens and the new earth that God will make shall remain before Him, and the seed and the name of His people shall remain before Him just as surely. God's law stands fast forever and will exist in the new earth to all eternity. The promise of that enduring new earth upholds that the redeemed will keep the Sabbath there forever in honor of the Creator.
The Sabbath was founded at creation when the foundations of the earth were laid, when the sons of God looked with admiration on the Creator's work and all the heavenly host shouted for joy. At the close of the six days of creation God rested on the seventh day from all His work, and blessed the seventh day and sanctified it because in it He had rested from all His work. The Sabbath was instituted in Eden before the fall and was observed by Adam and Eve and all the heavenly host.
The Sabbath of the fourth commandment is a golden link designed to unite person to person and to connect earth to heaven and finite humanity to the infinite God. The man of sin exalted himself above God and sought to break that chain, yet it is not broken. It still exists and will continue to exist for the whole duration that the renewed heavens and the renewed earth remain. The Sabbath will never be done away, but the redeemed saints together with all the angelic host will observe it in honor of the great Creator to all eternity.
In its setting with the following verse, the verse places worship in the renewed earth from Sabbath to Sabbath, when God's subjects will gather in the sanctuary every Sabbath and every new moon to join in higher songs of thanksgiving and praise to Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever. Assembling in God's house now to cultivate perfect love fits people on earth for the mansions Christ has gone to prepare for those who love Him. The earth made new is the future setting for the Lord's farm, where students can be prepared to serve through practical work.
