The chapter holding this meeting with Ahaz is to be read together with Isaiah 6, Jeremiah 7, Jeremiah 8, and Isaiah 55. Taken together they form one divine appeal to turn from continual and perpetual backsliding, to amend ways and doings, and to obey the voice of God. The call closes with the invitation to come to Him that the soul may live.
