Jeremiah 13:14

And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the LORD: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them.

Jeremiah 13:14 is a denunciation of sin and a warning of judgment spoken against God's own people, Israel. It belongs to the warnings addressed to the Jews found in Jeremiah 12 to 24. The sin denounced was idolatry and wilful sin, and the punishment threatened was soon to fall through Babylon.

The judgments in these surrounding prophecies stand together with expressions of sorrow over the people's transgression. They also carry appeals calling the people to return to God. That call was largely left unheeded.
