Jeremiah 15:14
And I will make thee to pass with thine enemies into a land which thou knowest not: for a fire is kindled in mine anger, which shall burn upon you. And I will make thee to pass with thine enemies into a land which thou knowest not: for a fire is kindled in mine anger, which shall burn upon you.
Jeremiah 15:14 stands among the clear warnings and denunciations against sin addressed to the Jews, uttered in sorrow over the people's transgression. The sins drawing its threatened punishment were willful idolatry including the abominations of Topheth, treachery and shamelessness, and corrupt temple worship joined with Sabbath breaking. The punishment is to be made to pass with enemies into a land not known, where the fire kindled in divine anger burns upon the exiles. Babylon is the swift avenger appointed to carry them away in execution of that anger. Had the Sabbath been truly kept in true recognition of God as Creator and Redeemer, Jerusalem would have stood forever and the nation would have been preserved.
