Jeremiah 15:4
And I will cause them to be removed into all kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh the son of Hezekiah king of Judah, for that which he did in Jerusalem. And I will cause them to be removed into all kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh the son of Hezekiah king of Judah, for that which he did in Jerusalem.
God will cause Judah to be removed and scattered into all kingdoms of the earth as judgment for what Manasseh son of Hezekiah king of Judah did in Jerusalem, with Babylon as the swift avenger carrying out that removal. The guilt bringing this removal includes willful idolatry, the abominations of Topheth, treachery and shamelessness, and an empty form of temple worship that is of no avail to the ungodly. The removal comes under the conditions of blessing or curse that apply to Israel and to all other nations as well, whereas heeding the Sabbath in its full meaning as true recognition of God as Creator and Redeemer would have let Jerusalem stand forever and preserved the nation. In view of this desperate state of sin, the prophet weeps over the people and is almost utterly discouraged by their utter lack of response, yet still pleads with God not to disgrace the throne of His glory.
The removal and dispersion under the nations began in 677 B.C. when Manasseh was taken captive to Babylon. That scattering beginning in 677 B.C. continued until A.D. 538, when the people fled into the wilderness. From that 677 B.C. starting point a 2,520-year period of punishment and dispersion runs to A.D. 1843, found by subtracting the B.C. date from 2,520 years.
