Jeremiah 19:14

Then came Jeremiah from Tophet, whither the LORD had sent him to prophesy; and he stood in the court of the LORD’s house; and said to all the people,

Before this moment Jeremiah had broken a potter's earthen bottle in the valley of the son of Hinnom as an illustration of swiftly coming judgment, and then he returned to Jerusalem. He then stood in the court of the temple before all the people. There he declared that God would bring upon Jerusalem and all its towns all the evil pronounced against them, because they had hardened their necks and would not hear His words. He restated the sentence of doom publicly because the multitudes had scarcely understood its awful import, and a deeper impression was needed.
