Jeremiah 2:6
Neither said they, Where is the LORD that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?
The wilderness of the verse was a stony ravine and barren waste, a great wilderness of rocky gorges crossed on the march from Sinai toward Kadesh. Its difficult way made progress necessarily slow and toilsome for throngs of men, women, and children traveling with beasts and wagons and long lines of flocks and herds. After long encampment they were not prepared to endure its perils and discomforts.
