Jeremiah 20:6
And thou, Pashur, and all that dwell in thine house shall go into captivity: and thou shalt come to Babylon, and there thou shalt die, and shalt be buried there, thou, and all thy friends, to whom thou hast prophesied lies. Jeremiah 20:6 belongs to the chapters that declare that willful Israel will soon be punished by Babylon. That coming Babylonian punishment is the setting that gives the verse its force. Its particular warning to Pashur and his household and associates is left without further explanation beyond that larger declaration of judgment.
