Jeremiah Offers the Cup of Wine to the Nationsby emmanuel_higgins

Jeremiah 25:23

Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that are in the utmost corners,

Dedan and Tema and Buz and all that dwell in the utmost corners stand among the many nations of the earth appointed to drink the cup filled with the wine of divine wrath. Jerusalem with the cities of Judah and its kings are made to drink first. Then Pharaoh of Egypt with his servants and his princes and his people is made to drink, and afterward these peoples together with the other nations partake of the same cup of woe until the divine purpose is fulfilled. The draining of that cup illustrates the fate pronounced in the sentence of doom and makes its meaning plain, declaring a swift-coming judgment that begins with Judah and then spreads to the surrounding nations.
