Jeremiah 26:24

Nevertheless the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.

Ahikam son of Shaphan, together with others, stood with Jeremiah to defend him so that he would not be handed over into the hand of the people to be put to death. The princes and the elders also intervened on his behalf, and their intervention turned the people in Jeremiah's favor. In this crisis God raised up defenders for His servant. This protection came despite the opposition of the priests and false prophets, many of whom wanted Jeremiah killed. As a result Jeremiah was not put to death, and his life was spared.
