Jeremiah 27:21 belongs to the letters about the Hebrew captives in Babylon, the false prophets among them, and the controversy between the true and false messages. It concerns the sacred vessels still remaining in the house of the Lord and in the house of the king of Judah at Jerusalem, in the temple and in the royal houses, as distinct from the vessels already carried to Babylon. Like the vessels already taken, these remaining vessels were to stay in Babylon until the appointed seventy years of captivity had passed. When the seventy years ended, God would deliver His people from captivity.
