Returning Families Rebuild a City With Singingby emmanuel_higgins

Jeremiah 30:18

Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob’s tents, and have mercy on his dwellingplaces; and the city shall be builded upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof.

This verse stands among Jeremiah's prophecies of Israel's restoration concerning the return of the exiles, presenting that return as a sure promise studied by Daniel as he sought to understand the seventy years of Jerusalem's desolation. It promises that God will bring back the captivity of Jacob's tents and have mercy on his dwellingplaces and homes. It promises that He will heal His people of their wounds and save them, so that the nations hostile to Zion will not defeat His purpose. It promises deliverance to God's church in the hour of her greatest peril, assuring that God will not fail His people when danger is greatest.
