Jeremiah 30:3
For, lo, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it. For, lo, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.
Jeremiah was commanded to write in a book the restoration message of chapters 30-31 immediately after his exchange of letters with the elders in Babylon. That written message contains the assurance that the days were coming when the Lord would end the captivity of His people Israel and Judah. He would cause them to return to the land He had given to their fathers, and they would possess it. More than sixty years later, in the first year of Darius the Mede, Daniel prayerfully studied this promise together with Jeremiah 25 and knew the return was certain. He was still perplexed over how the seventy years of desolation joined to the twenty-three hundred days before the cleansing of the sanctuary.
