Jeremiah 31:22
How long wilt thou go about, O thou backsliding daughter? for the LORD hath created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man. How long wilt thou go about, O thou backsliding daughter? for the LORD hath created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man.
The new thing the Lord creates in the earth is the recovery of backsliding and lost, apostate humanity by pardoning sin and saving sinners. This new creation is fulfilled in Christ, in whom humanity is inhabited by deity and God is revealed in human nature. Through faith in him heaven supplies every spiritual blessing needed, so that fallen humanity is elevated and recreated in his image and formed in the divine likeness. Those so recreated, with character transformed, are made co-workers with God in rebuilding character according to the standard of righteousness. This recreating work prepares them to share in the new earth.
