Jeremiah 31:8

Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither.

The verse is a promise that God Himself will bring His people from the north country and gather them from the far coasts of the earth back to their own land. None are left behind in that gathering, for even the blind and the lame and the woman with child and her that travails with child are brought with the rest, so that a great company returns together. This ingathering belongs to the time when the divided tribes of Israel are made one people again under the Lord's rule. He leads them safely on the way while they come with weeping and supplication, declaring Himself their Father and Ephraim His firstborn. The promise of gathering and return was sure, and it was fulfilled in the return from Babylon after the appointed seventy years of desolation.
