Jeremiah 32:24

Behold the mounts, they are come unto the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans, that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence: and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, thou seest it.

This verse belongs to Jeremiah's prayer to God for further light after he bought the field at Anathoth. He prayed when his faith was sorely tried, when he was perplexed in spirit, and when he was bowed down with sorrow over the sufferings of those who had refused to repent.

The verse describes the closing siege of Jerusalem, when Nebuchadnezzar's armies were about to take the walls of Zion by storm, when thousands were perishing in a last desperate defense and many thousands more were dying of hunger and disease, and when the fate of the city was already sealed. The mounts are the enemy's besieging towers already come against the city and overlooking the walls, and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans because of the sword and the famine and the pestilence. By declaring that what God had spoken had come to pass and that God sees it, Jeremiah confesses that the destruction is God's doing in fulfillment of His word. He holds that certain ruin together with God's command to buy the field for money and take witnesses, asking whether the promises to the chosen nation could ever meet complete fulfillment.
