Jeremiah 33:8
And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me. And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.
The promise was given a second time while Jeremiah was confined in the court of the prison as Jerusalem faced burning and captivity by the Chaldeans, confirming assurances of deliverance and restoration. The verse promises that God will cleanse and pardon Judah and Israel, His people, from all their iniquity, sin and transgression against Him. It shows that He is willing to forgive and save.
The cleansing and pardon comes with health and cure and healing, and with a revelation of abundance of peace and truth. It comes with a return of the captives and a rebuilding as at the first and as in former times. It comes with the performance of the good thing promised to the house of Israel and the house of Judah. Those restored are made a name of joy and praise and honor before all nations because of God's goodness and prosperity to them. Restored with them are the sounds of joy and gladness and of bridegroom and bride and of thanksgiving for His enduring mercy, accompanied by offerings of praise, and shepherds and flocks are restored in all the cities.
The promise of cleansing and forgiveness applies to institutions established for God's glory. Such institutions are to become a source of joy, praise and honor before the nations through the good He does for them.
