Jeremiah 34:3

And thou shalt not escape out of his hand, but shalt surely be taken, and delivered into his hand; and thine eyes shall behold the eyes of the king of Babylon, and he shall speak with thee mouth to mouth, and thou shalt go to Babylon.

Jeremiah 34:3 belongs to the history leading up to Jerusalem's fall. It falls within the section covering the two years before that fall.

It belongs to the account of Zedekiah refusing to follow God's instruction through Jeremiah. Fear of the people led the king to reject his last opportunity to spare Jerusalem.

The verse foretells Zedekiah's fate that he would not escape the king of Babylon but would be captured and delivered into his hand. He would be brought before him and meet him face to face. He would see and speak with Nebuchadnezzar mouth to mouth and be taken to Babylon.

The prediction was fulfilled when Zedekiah saw Nebuchadnezzar at Riblah. There his eyes were put out. He was then taken to Babylon without seeing the city.

The verse teaches the lesson of heeding the messages God sends through His chosen instruments.
