Jeremiah 36:13

Then Michaiah declared unto them all the words that he had heard, when Baruch read the book in the ears of the people.

Michaiah declared to the princes and officials all the words he had heard when Baruch read aloud to the people Jeremiah's written message, the Lord's words in the scroll. His report led the princes to send for Baruch so they could hear the roll for themselves. The public reading thus carried the message beyond its original hearers.

The account belongs to the episode in which the message was afterward brought before the king and heard by him and his servants, and the king cut and burned the roll despite appeals not to do so. In that crisis the Lord hid and protected Jeremiah and Baruch. Burning the scroll could not destroy the message, for it was written again with still more added. The chapter stands as a warning to Battle Creek, for similar things would happen in the present day.
