Jeremiah went out from Jerusalem toward the land of Benjamin, seeking to separate himself from the city and pass out in the midst of the people. As he attempted to leave he was accused of falling away to join the enemy. He denied the charge, declaring it false, yet he was seized and brought back instead of being allowed to go on his way.
