Jeremiah 37:16

When Jeremiah was entered into the dungeon, and into the cabins, and Jeremiah had remained there many days;

Jeremiah was imprisoned for obeying the word of the Lord. He remained in the dungeon there for many days. That imprisonment shows that opposition to God's message takes in both persecution and confinement, and it illustrates the hostility faithful messengers may encounter when they give God's reproof.
