Jeremiah 37:20

Therefore hear now, I pray thee, O my lord the king: let my supplication, I pray thee, be accepted before thee; that thou cause me not to return to the house of Jonathan the scribe, lest I die there.

Just before this plea Jeremiah told King Zedekiah that he would be handed over to Babylon. In the verse he then begs the king to accept his supplication and not send him back to the house of Jonathan the scribe, where he feared he would die. In response the king ordered that Jeremiah be kept in the prison court and given bread daily until the city's supply was exhausted.
