Jeremiah 4:1
If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the LORD, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove. If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the LORD, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove.
The verse is God's answer to backsliding Israel when they humble themselves in confession. Returning means coming back fully to Him, putting abominations out of His sight by confessing sins and forsaking them. Those who return in this way are received with compassion and made stable, so they shall not be removed nor left to become the sport of temptation. Swearing truly in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness brings blessing that reaches beyond Israel to the nations.
