Jeremiah 4:2

And thou shalt swear, The LORD liveth, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.

The verse is the Lord's direct answer to backsliding Israel when it comes to Him in humility and confession. The promise it holds out is conditional, requiring Israel first to return to Him. That return must include putting away its abominations out of His sight, and only then comes the assurance that it shall not be removed. Once thus restored, Israel will swear by the living Lord in truth and in judgment and in righteousness. Through that renewed allegiance the nations shall bless themselves in Him, and in Him shall they glory.
